The Secret Service wants to try out facial recognition around the White House

If facial recognition is rolled out more broadly, it will serve as an automated version of that surveillance process. The Department of Homeland Security (which the Secret Service operates within) already uses facial recognition to scan passengers on international and domestic flights.
