Finally, Apple might be releasing an upgraded version of its AirPods during the first quarter of 2019. It might even overhaul the device for 2020. According to a latest report from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo the demand for the AirPods device would escalate over the coming years.
During this year’s summer it was rumored that the upgraded AirPods would be launched during this year’s fall product launches. However, it failed to make an appearance. Going by the forecast by Kuo, the new AirPods might see the light in 2019. Moreover, the new models is going to have wireless charging support system; even though it’s not clear whether there would be an upgraded case for it or the earpieces totally would also receive an upgrade.
There are some other changes that go along with previous rumours as well. In fact, Kuo stated that the next model would be coming with upgraded Bluetooth specifications, an upgraded attachment on the case. The hinge of the case would be overhauled in order to support thermal flow.
Moreover, the internal parts would become a bit more costly. It has been also rumoured that 2019 would be bringing forward a new set of elegant looking AirPods, which would be water resistant and will come with the feature of noise cancellation. Surpassing the promising upgrade in 2019, Kuo mentioned that there would be a completely new design for the 2020 AirPods; however, he didn’t reveal the details. Kuo didn’t mention anything about the much-awaited AirPower mat.
Kuo apparently stated that AirPods are the most popular accessory ever created from the house of Apple, and predicted that the company would be going from selling 16 million units in 2017 to over 100 million units by 2021.
