It has been a very special weekend for Bollywood’s ‘desi girl’ Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas. On 1st December, Saturday, the couple went for a traditional Christian ceremony at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, which was solemnized by Nick’s father, Paul Kevin Jonas Sr. On 2nd December, the couple again tied the knot based on Hindu rituals.
Well, Priyanka and Nick sent their fans into a state of huff with their pictures of pre-wedding revelry; they kept the pictures of their wedding under wraps. However, according to some sources, for the Hindu wedding, Priyanka Chopra, wore a traditional red lehenga.
Later on, when a picture appeared on the social media, one could see that the actress looked gorgeous in the traditional red outfit. The red lehenga which comprises of a long embroidered skirt comes with a cropped top and veil.
Indian fashion designer, Sabyasachi, customized the look of Priyanka. He took 110 embroiders from Calcutta, India. It took his team 3,720 hours to create the French knots in silk floss, the hand-cut organza flowers, and layers of thread work. As per Priyanka’s request, the names of her fiancé and her parents, Ashok and Madhu were stitched into the waistband of her skirt. The names were written in her native language. Even her accessories were traditional as she wore a 16-carat oval shaped diamond drop on her head by Chopard.
Priyanks Chopra later briefed a daily that she wanted a red traditional silhouette for her wedding; however, designer Sabyasachi brought for her a fabulous French embroidery mix with beautiful jewelry and veil that have an inspiration from the west. It made a perfect blend of two cultures.
Jonas was also dressed in a traditional Indian outfit. He wore a hand-quilted silk sherwani which came with a hand-embroidered chikan dupatta and a chanderi tissue safa. He even wore a turban. His rose-cut kalgi and Syndicate diamond necklace were from the Sabyasachi Heritage Jewelry Collection.
The couple both wore shoes by Christian Louboutin.
