For the summer transfer window, Premier League’s big six teams are looking to create big waves. With a little time left for the serious business to start, manager of Manchester United Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confessed that after finishing sixth in the EPL 2018-19, he is looking forward to a major revamp to his team and for this he “need players in”. Manchester United is 32 points behind the champions Manchester City.
The summer transfer window starts for business from this Thursday, 16 May and would remain so till 8 August. Even is bit early and most of the clubs are looking forward to many names, options and scenarios; however, there is no doubt that some difficulty and complexities is bound to arise. Situations do change.
However, a short preview of where the top six clubs could make changes during this transfer window.
1.Manchester City is eager to take Atletico Madrid’s Spanish midfielder Rodri for the number six role. The goal of the signing is to generate an eventual successor to 34-year-old Fernandinho. However, City won’t be signing Sporting Lisbon’s Bruno Fernandes. City is also interested to take in Crystal Palace’s 21-year-old right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
2.Of the EPL’s top six, Liverpool seems to be very settled. Their focus is to improve the existing squad and make game-changing signs.
3.If Chelsea’s ban remains, the club might refuse to let go striker Olivier Giroud and might extend his contract. Same could be done with on-loan Gonzalo Higuain. Michy Batshuayi and Tammy Abraham. Although Eden Hazard is looking for the switch but it might not happen.
4.Tottenham is yet to make any offer but there is a hint that it’s going to bid for Sessegnon
5.Spurs would want to avoid losing Christian Eriksen at any cost.
6.Arsenal is going to target Getafe centre-back Djene Dakonam, who is under contract until 2021 and has a 35m euros release clause. He is going to replace Aaron Ramsey. It is looking to sign Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic and was also talking to Yannick Carrasco of Dalian Yifang.
7.Manchester United’s is looking for Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly and Jadon Sancho.
It’s still early and most clubs are looking at many names, options and scenarios with no doubt some complications and complexities to come.
