Google Docs is Set to Allow Native Edit Options in Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Previously, users lost their heads when it came to editing Microsoft office in Google Doc files. Users had to first convert the file into Google format prior to collaborating, commenting or editing within the Docs. However, recently Google stated that it is working to add native support like .xls, docx, and .ppt for complimenting Microsoft office formats like Word, PowerPoint and Excel. For Word files the following file types like .doc, .docx, .do will be incorporated; for PowerPoint the file types include ppt, .pptx, .pps, .pot; and for Excel files the types include .xlsx, .Xls, .xlsm, and .xlt.
