In Match 36 of the ICC CWC 2019, Pakistan would be facing off Afghanistan at the Headingley Cricket Ground, Leeds on 29th June. The match would kick-off from 10.30 AM BST.
During the start of the tournament, Pakistan didn’t played well and their poor form was clearly visible. However, after Sarfaraz Ahmed’s team started to face criticism, things started to change for good. They looked balanced in their game against South Africa and New Zealand. Now, with successive two wins from the last two games, their downward curve in the tournament took an upward turn.
Basically, with England losing a couple of games, the game of the tournament has turned upside down. Now, Pakistan has an increasing chance of booking a berth for the semi-finals. However, Pakistan needs to win their remaining two matches of the tournament.
The Afghans have lost all their seven games. However, in the last games, the team has put up a brave fight. In fact, the bowlers have done really well but the problem they faced was with their batting line up.
Throughout the tournament, Afghanistan’s batsmen have been scored only four half-centuries. Also, there has been only one instance of the team batting out the 50 overs. Hence, batting has been one of the biggest reasons for their downfall in this World Cup.
In their last games, they would try to upset their opponents and show their same performance they presented against India.
In the last couple of games, Pakistan has presented some excellent cricket. So in all probability, the Men in Green would defeat the Afghans, who are already of this 2019 cricket tournament.
